Stern on Diet and Emissions

Critics, notably from the UK meat industry, have rounded on Lord Stern following his recent comments on how diets rich in meat and meat products lead to greater greenhouse gas emissions.  Where beef, cow’s milk and lamb are concerned methane is a major contributor to these emissions.  On the BBC’s website today, MethaneNet colleague Elaine Matthews of NASA GISS discusses some of the science background to the story.
